Development
SEER's EIC Model™ Implementation
Institutes are designed for teams of teachers and administrators
of grade levels K-12. The institutes provide educational teams
with minds-on, collaborative activities that are the tools for
developing and implementing an EIC Model™ program in their
schools. Generally, these institutes involve teams from multiple
schools. SEER has also designed and conducted specialized EIC
Model™ Implementation Institutes for individual schools and
school districts. 30 or fewer
participants: $9,000 (including materials) plus associated travel expenses
31-50 participants: $12,000 (including materials) plus associated travel expenses 51-70 participants: $15,000 (including materials) plus associated travel expenses 71-100 participants: $18,000 (including materials) plus associated travel expenses
Keynote Presentations, Seminars, and Webinars SEER's Director, Dr. Gerald A.
Lieberman, is available on a limited basis to make keynote
presentations about Environment-Based Education and his new
book, Education
and the Environment: Creating Standards-Based
Programs for Schools and Districts.
He is also available to speak about SEER's research into the
educational efficacy of the EIC Model™ and implementation of the
State of California's Education and the Environment Initiative
(EEI). [SEER served as the principal consultant to the State of
California and led the development of the EEI curriculum.]
SEER's evaluators work with the local
education team to construct a program evaluation plan. This
evaluation process typically involves collecting and analyzing
measures of progress toward fully implementing the EIC Model™. SEER's
team also advises participating schools on which student
achievement and behavioral data they might want to collect. • Self-evaluation rubrics;
• Stages of Concern questionnaire (SoC); and, • Innovation Configuration instrument (IC). Self-evaluation Rubric The rubrics are organized around each of the educational components of an EIC Model™ program as well as considering leadership and community involvement processes. These rubrics establish standards for implementing the EIC Model™ allowing educators to: understand what is expected of them; outline implementation strategies; define performance; and, provide for ongoing program evaluation. Stages of Concern The Stages of Concern (SoC) instrument is a diagnostic tool created to explain the level of teacher buy-in and to propose ways to monitor and increase implementation of education innovations. The SoC instrument is used to measure how people feel about the innovation that they are expected to implement. Innovation Configuration The Innovation Configuration (IC) is a diagnostic methodology created to look at the way teachers actually implement innovations in educational practice. SEER worked with a staff consultant from the Southwest Regional Educational Development Laboratory (SEDL) to develop an EIC Model™-specific Innovation Configuration instrument. This instrument helps SEER evaluate the qualities of various instructional practices as schools work to fully implement the EIC Model™. SEER can also design specialized program evaluation instruments to meet the individual needs of other organization's education programs. For example, SEER has designed evaluation strategies and instruments, as well as conducting program evaluations for First Hand Learning and Adopt A Watershed. Costs: Hourly rate of $125 for SEER's professional staff, plus associated travel expenses |
