The EIC Model
Environment as an Integrating Context for improving student learning

SEER's Curriculum Design Work

SEER recently completed its work on the development of the first ever, K-12 environment-based curriculum for the State of California’s Education and the Environment Initiative (EEI). This innovative standards-based curriculum was recently approved by California’s State Board of Education for use by teachers as replacements for their state adopted instructional materials. SEER served as the state’s principal consultant for all aspects of the design, development, and approval of the EEI curriculum, an effort that involved the cooperation of six state agencies.
SEER’s team is available to guide schools, districts, state departments of education, and environmental organizations in all phases of curriculum development. SEER is also available to assist in the development of materials and programs related to implementation of California's EEI curriculum.
